At COCOLAB, we love candy. Seriously. Our stash would make Willy Wonka jealous. So let’s get this straight: we’d never tell you to skip your favorite sweets on your favorite holiday. Life’s too short not to eat the peanut butter cup. That said… maybe don’t eat peanut butter cups for breakfast, lunch, and dinner from October 31 through Thanksgiving. Balance, friends.

Choose Your Candy Wisely

Think of candy like party guests.

No, not that kind of chaser. A glass of water after candy helps wash sugar and acid away. Sparkling water works too (the bubbles help dislodge candy bits) — just don’t sip it all day or you’ll swap sugar for acid.


Don’t Let Sugar Move In

Bacteria throw a rave in your mouth for about 30 minutes after sugar hits. Bacteria parties lead to acid parties that lead to your enamel getting pummeled over time.
